William and Charles were 'very angry' Harry put words in their mouths, says expert

Prince William and Prince Charles were left "very angry" that Prince Harry put words in their mouths during his bombshell chat with Oprah Winfrey, an expert has said.

Harry is believed to have a strained relationship with his dad and his older brother and talked about them in his explosive interview with wife Meghan Markle last year.

In the chat, Harry claimed that William and Charles were "trapped" within the system of the Royal Family after being asked by Oprah if his older brother wanted to leave the Firm.

He said: "I am part of the system with them, I always have been, but I guess—and I’m very aware of this—my brother can’t leave that system, but I have.

"My father and my brother are trapped. They don’t get to leave, and I have huge compassion for that.”

And now, according to royal expert and biographer Robert Jobson, Harry was "putting words into his father and brother's mouths" when he made the comments.

Speaking on the Royally US podcast, Robert explained: "I don’t think he’s [William] ever felt like that.

“I think Harry was putting words into his father and his brother’s mouths, and maybe making an assessment based upon his feelings.

“They were both very angry about that, both Charles and William. I don’t think it’s true, I don’t think he felt trapped in any way.”

In recent years, much has been made about the feud between Harry and his older brother.

It was reportedly sparked by William's concerns over Harry's fast-developing relationship with Meghan ahead of their royal wedding in 2018.

Since leaving the UK in early 2020, Harry has only seen his brother twice - at the funeral of Prince Philip and at an unveiling of a statue of their late mother Princess Diana.

However, despite the feud, one royal expert predicts the brothers will reunite thanks to an "unbreakable tie".

PA royal correspondent Alan Jones told True Royalty's The Royal Beat: "I think William has still got a lot of time for Harry. He's his little brother at the end of the day.

"Even though they haven't seen eye to eye, I think there is still that brotherly bond, their mother's death has created this unbreakable tie between them.

"At the end of the day, he will always put his arm around him, whatever he said about the family."

Meanwhile, another royal expert has claimed Prince Harry's rift with William 'can't be healed' as the publication of his memoir looms.

Royal author Richard Fitzwilliams told the ToDiForDaily's podcast he said: "In my view, both brothers were inseparable.

"It's in no doubt that one of the tragedies is that they have taken very different roads.

"The problem is what is going to be in that book."
