Will Zalatoris hilariously explained why Phil Mickelson could play Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore remake

Will Zalatoris is a rising star on the PGA Tour who has three top-10 finishes in the three majors he’s played in this far, including a second-place finish at the Masters last April.

He’s also well known because he looks like a famous person. Well, a famous movie character – the caddie for Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.

Zalatoris and Sandler had fun with that during the Masters, with Sandler wishing his “caddie” well on the final day and Zalatoris replying that he would do better next time.

This week we had Zalatoris on USA Today Sports’ weekly show “Sports Seriously” and asked him which pro golfers would be best to play certain characters from Happy Gilmore if Hollywood decided to do a remake.

His answers were great, especially his explanation for why Phil Mickelson would make a perfect Shooter McGavin.

This whole interview is fun, but the Happy Gilmore talk starts at the 5:40 mark:

Too good.
