A while back in the news section of the "Business Solutions" supplement I mentioned that small business was in danger of missing the deadline for changing the way BACS works. Essentially they're upgrading to an Internet-based system and the old system will be switched off at the end of this year.
Well, according to Silicon.com a load of people have yet to act. It appears that some 350,000 companies have still yet to change their system, and if they don't do so then come 1 January their staff and suppliers will find themselves unpaid - or realistically people will have to send cheques or cash instead.
