Will West Ham finish seventh? Predict the race against Leicester Watford, Wolves and Everton

West Ham United’s hopes of finishing in seventh took another hammer blow on Saturday, with a 2-1 loss to Champions League chasing Manchester United.

Despite a much improved performance from the defeat against Everton, a controversial disallowed goal, which later looked to be onside, and two penalties from Paul Pogba ensured the three points stayed in Manchester, with Felipe Anderson’s 49th minute equaliser not enough to take anything from the game.

The result leaves the Hammers in 11th place in the Premier League, five points off seventh placed Leicester City, with four games left to play.

Other results over the weekend mean that West Ham are still in with a shout of finishing as ‘best of the rest’ which comes with a possibility of Europa League football next season.

The previous encounter between the two saw the Hammers come away from the King Power Stadium with a 1-1 draw, despite Mark Noble seeing red in the 38th minute.
