Will Washington’s Dyami Brown be one of the most productive rookie wide receivers in 2021?

Washington Football Team wide receiver Terry McLaurin is already one of the best pass-catchers in the NFL as he enters his third season in 2021.

But, Washington knew McLaurin needed help, and this offseason added Curtis Samuel and Adam Humphries in free agency and selected Dyami Brown in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft.

Some viewed Washington’s selection of Brown as one of the steals of the draft.

While hopes are high for Brown in Washington, could he be one of the more impactful rookie receivers in 2021?

Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports recently named five receivers who will be the most productive in 2021, and he did not include Brown. Trapasso went with Ja’Marr Chase, Elijah Moore, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle.

All of those players ahead of Brown make sense. Chase, Smith and Waddle were all selected in the first 10 picks, Moore went in the second round, while St. Brown goes to a team in absolute desperate need of wide receiver help.

Brown will look to carve out a role early in his career, but the presence of McLaurin, Samuel, and, to a lesser degree, Humphries should get most of the targets. Add in tight end Logan Thomas and running back J.D. McKissic; Brown could be looking for a more specialized role as a rookie.

Please make no mistake, Brown will help Washington as a rookie, but there will be no pressure to force him into the lineup.
