Will Tottenham's Harry Kane be fit to face Liverpool in the Champions League final?

Tottenham's prolific striker Harry Kane is aiming to be back fit to play against Liverpool in the Champions League final in Madrid on June 1.

Liverpool fans question who former star will support in Champions League final after Tottenham beat Ajax in semi final , who has netted 164 goals in 252 games for the club, has been out of action since he rolled an ankle following a challenge from Fabian Delph in the second half of their 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Mauricio Pochettino's side booked their place in the Spanish capital to face the Reds in three weeks time courtesy of a stunning second-half display in Amsterdam.

Tottenham had lost their semi-final first leg at home to Ajax eight days ago through a Donny van de Beek goal and after a Matthijs de Ligt header and Hakim Ziyech strike, they trailed 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate at half-time at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

However, a second half hat-trick from Brazilian Lucas Moura – with his crucial third coming in the 96th minute – put Spurs through to their first European Cup final. Kane, who was with the squad in the Netherlands, confirmed he is hoping to play in the final if selected.

He told BT Sport: "Hopefully (I'll be fit), the rehab has gone well so far.

"I've started straight-line running this week and that's why I've been okay to train today, I didn't want to cut any corners.

"We'll see but so-far so-good so if it carries on like it should then hopefully but we've still got a few weeks."

Meanwhile, Liverpool will hope that Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah will be back in contention in time for the final after the pair both missed out on the semi final second leg at Anfield.
