Will there be another Queen's Speech and when will it be?

Boris Johnson looks set to return to Number 10 as the Tories are predicted a landslide majority in the 2019 General Election.

The Conservative Party has gained seats across the country, some previous Labour strongholds, on the back of a campaign promising to 'get Brexit done'.

If Mr Johnson does now take office it will only be a matter of days before Brits hear his plans for the country in the Queen's Speech.

A new Parliament will be summoned to meet on Tuesday, December 17, when MPs will be officially sworn in.

The Queen's Speech will be a 'dressed-down' event if its held on December 19, as it was after Theresa May called a snap election in 2017 (Carl Court/PA Wire)

The Queen's Speech will then be delivered just two days later with the State Opening of Parliament on Thursday, December 19.

As the Queen's Speech is scheduled so close to Christmas, it will be slightly different to the usual ceremony.

The event will be a 'dressed-down' version, with the Queen attending in day dress rather than her traditional ceremonial robes, and arriving at Westminster in a car rather than a carriage.

The snap election in 2017 called by Theresa May also saw some of the ceremonial elements of Parliament's opening toned down.

It's been just two months since the last Queen's Speech which set out Boris Johnson's plans for the government on October 14.
