Will there be a season 4 of Beyond Paradise? Here's everything we know so far

Beyond Paradise has had three popular seasons so far, all of which are available to stream on BBC iPlayer right now.

If you’re already caught up, however, you might be wondering when you can get more of the detective series.

One actor in Beyond Paradise, Zahra Ahmadi, has said that the show has the legs to run as long as the original series, Death in Paradise.

"I think it absolutely has the capacity to do that," said the star, who plays Esther Williams, while speaking with Yahoo News. "I mean, there's so much we haven't even scratched the surface on yet with characters, and then with various crimes and cases.

"I would absolutely love to do 14 series of it, there's just nothing like it. I get to be at home, which is a real joy, and I get to work with the most amazing cast and crew I've ever worked with.

"I absolutely love working with Kris [Marshall], Dylan [Llewellyn], and Felicity [Montagu], with Barbara [Flynn], with Sally [Bretton], Jamie [Bamber]. We have a lovely time, we've got the best producer in Lindsay Hughes. It's just so joyous, so yes, we would like to [keep going for 14 series]."

However, that dream isn’t quite a reality yet – but could it be?

Will there be a season 4 of Beyond Paradise?

Beyond Paradise has not yet been green lit for a fourth season, so a return to the sleepy Devon town of Shipton Abbott is not guaranteed after the third season came to an end on May 2.

Over a month on, nothing has been confirmed for a fourth season, as the season finale brought Humphrey Goodman and Martha Lloyd’s story to a close.

However, there are still plenty more characters to dig into, as Ahmadi pointed out above. After all, Death In Paradise – the show that sparked the spin-off – has been renewed for at least one more season for next year.

With that in mind, we do have a general release window for any future possible Beyond Paradise season, as it usually follows the latest series of Death in Paradise.

Death in Paradise is scheduled to air in early 2026 following on from the Christmas special, Beyond Paradise would then logically follow between late February and early April 2026 according to the usual rhythm.

Who could return for a potential fourth season

While Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman and Sally Bretton as Martha Lloyd’s stories have come to a satisfying conclusion this past season, we could easily see them return once more.

We'd also expect to see Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams, seeing as she has been openly keen for the show to continue.

Other familiar faces that should make a return with the show are:

  • Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd
  • Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford
  • Felicity Montagu as Margo Martins
  • Melina Sinadinou as Zoe Williams
  • Jade Harrison as CS Charlie Woods

As always with Beyond Paradise, there will likely be a host of new guest stars, as with season 3’s Hugh Dennis and Caroline Quentin.
