Will the NFL play games in empty stadiums in 2020?

It would appear the NFL is doing its very best to press forward with the season despite the continued sanctions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Every state has some sort of plan in place to eventually open up to a point where NFL stadiums can have fans. But right now this is more theoretical than practical given the circumstances.

With the NFL, the money doesn’t come from the gate. Ticket sales and concessions make up a tiny portion and the money a team makes and is far outweighed by the money the league makes off their TV contracts. So the notion of playing games without fans doesn’t feel like much of a risk for the league.

So will they do it? That’s the question of the day.

I feel like this is an easy yes for the NFL. If fans can’t attend they will still watch from home and the NFL still wins. The television experience might not be quite the same without the roar of the fans and the shots of the crowd and home-field advantage would disappear.

Cast your vote and tell us if you think the NFL is going to end up playing games in empty stadiums this season.
