Will Smith reveals title and release date for his autobiography

Now this is a story all about ... a multifaceted and successful entertainer.

Actor, rapper and film producer Will Smith can now add “author” to his resume, as he announced Saturday he has completed his autobiography.

“It’s been a labor of love,” Smith said in an Instagram video. “I’ve been working on it for the past two years and it is finally ready.”

Smith, whose face was behind an Instagram filter in the video, revealed the title, “Will,” and the publication date, Nov. 9.

The star, like his character in “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” was born in Philadelphia and eventually lived a life of luxury on the West Coast. His website said the book details his “transformation from a fearful child in a tense West Philadelphia home to one of the biggest rap stars of his era and then one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood history.”

Smith, a four-time Grammy Award winner, earned Oscar nominations for “Ali” and “The Pursuit of Happyness.” His box-office smashes include “Independence Day,” “I Am Legend” and the “Bad Boys” and “Men in Black” franchises.

He co-wrote the book with Mark Manson, author of the self-help book “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck,” a No. 1 bestseller.

The title “Will” is the same as Watergate conspirator G. Gordon Liddy’s autobiography, but will assuredly be a much different read.
