Silent Hill: Townfall is a bold departure for Konami’s long-running survival horror series. It’s a first-person psychological horror game set in St. Amelia, a fictionalized coastal town in Scotland. Unlike past entries, it places greater emphasis on stealth than on combat to overcome enemy encounters.
That said, this entry isn’t a radical departure for the franchise in every aspect. Like past Silent Hill games, Silent Hill: Townfall has multiple endings. Developer Screen Burn Interactive has confirmed that Silent Hill: Townfall features five endings. Each are influenced by the choices you make throughout the story.
However, these choices are subtle, and some might not even open up until you start New Game Plus. Thankfully, we have more details on what you can expect from Silent Hill: Townfall’s multiple endings.
Quick Summary
- There are five endings in Silent Hill: Townfall.
- Three main endings available in first playthrough.
- Two secrets endings available in NG+
- There are no A/B choices that influence endings.

How many endings are there in Silent Hill Townfall?
Three of the five Silent Hill: Townfall endings are the main endings, which can be experienced in your first playthrough. Whereas the other two are secret endings available in NG+.
Interestingly, none of the five endings are canon, which game director Jon Mckellan and Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto were quick to point out in an interview with Collider. According to Mckellan, each ending should feel correct to the player based on the choices they make throughout the story.
As for the choices themselves, there are no simple A/B options in Silent Hill: Townfall that decide which way the story goes. Several attributes can influence the direction of the story and the ending you get. These include taking actions (or inactions) such as aggressively hunting enemies, making optional discoveries, and exploring certain sections of the environment, among other things.
McKellan claims all these different attributes “move the needle” towards a particular ending.
Another interesting thing worth noting from recent Silent Hill: Townfall previews is that you can come across locked boxes and other items in the game that ask whether you want to open them or not. These can be one of those optional discoveries you can make that alter the course of your story.
St. Amelia is undoubtedly at the heart of the mystery surrounding Silent Hill: Townfall’s story. Its connection to Simon, the tragedy that unfolded there, and the people who disappeared with it are all part of the overarching narrative.
Recent previews suggest environmental storytelling is a big part of the game’s narrative. To that end, it makes sense for optional discoveries such as locked chests or dusty photographs to provide intel that steers the narrative towards a particular ending.
As for the secret endings, there’s a high chance they are more unnatural, light-hearted ones that might at least be worth seeking for achievements and trophies. Past Silent Hill games have had silly UFO endings that add an extra layer of absurdity to these stories.
Likewise, Silent Hill 2 has a famous dog ending in which James discovers that the events of the story were influenced and controlled by a Shiba Inu. Does it mean there’s a slight possibility that a dog (or a unicorn) is the reason Simon’s waking up in St. Amelia? We will have to wait and find out.
Once Silent Hill: Townfall drops on September 24, 2026, we will have a more comprehensive guide to explain and break down all five endings of the game. In the meantime, you can pre-order different Silent Hill: Townfall editions to unlock additional cosmetic items for Simon.
