A woman found the deal of a lifetime on Amazon: a six-seat, L-shaped sectional with charging ports for $20.
In a viral video, Anber (@anberx3) explains that she recently moved and is in the market for a new couch. Her father offered to buy her one under $300, so she began hunting on Amazon. That’s when she found what sounds too good to be true: HomeGearTech’s 112.2″ Sectional Sofa Pull-Out Sofa Bed Sleeper with a Storage Ottoman, Three Pillows, and Charging Devices selling for $20 flat.
Anber was skeptical, but she couldn’t resist the deal and ended up buying the couch.
The drawbacks of Amazon couch?
If you think a new couch for $20 is too good to be true, you’d be correct. The couch is in Used – Good condition. Amazon classifies used items as Good if they meet the following definitions:
- The item shows wear, but fully functions.
- The item may be marked, have identifying markings on it, or minor cosmetic damage.
- Item may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged.
- Item may be missing some valuable accessories, components, or spare parts and it may not be used until those parts are purchased separately.
- Missing accessories, components, or parts are clearly defined under individual item description.
Additionally, the couch takes four to five weeks to ship, so Anber won’t know whether her gamble paid off until August.
“I don’t know what I expect to come in this box,” she says. “It could just be a pillow.”
The plus side
Though we don’t yet know the condition of the $20 couch Anber bought, at least 16 people were happy with their purchase of the couch, as it has a perfect 5-star rating.
Interestingly, 10 out of 14 reviews were made in the past week. That may seem a little sketchy, but Amazon states that each review was made by someone with a verified purchase.
The top one, by Selina Hill, bills the couch as “Affordable Luxury: A Six-Seater Sofa to Love.”
She continues, “I’ve been on the hunt for a six-seater sofa for quite some time, and I’m so glad I came across this one. It’s the perfect blend of beauty and affordability, making it a must-have for any home. The design is simply stunning, with a unique and contemporary look that adds a touch of sophistication to my living room. It fits seamlessly with my existing decor, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the space.”
The review continues, “But what really impressed me is the price. I was expecting to pay a fortune for a sofa of this caliber, but this one is incredibly reasonably priced. Despite its low cost, it doesn’t compromise on quality. The construction is solid, and it feels sturdy and durable. The cushions are plush and comfortable, providing a cozy seating experience for hours on end. I’ve used it for various occasions, from movie nights to dinner parties, and it has held up beautifully. It’s a sofa that not only looks great but also functions perfectly. I’m constantly amazed at how much value I got for my money with this purchase. It’s definitely one of the best furniture investments I’ve ever made.”

Another drawback
While it may be a great couch, if you’re looking to get it at the same price as Anber, you’re out of luck. The couch is currently only available from one seller, WYW1995, and it retails for $1,459.99 in new condition.
But wait, another bright side for Amazon shoppers
If you’re willing to shell out the extra cash for the couch, at least you won’t have to wait four to five weeks for it to ship. As of this writing, Amazon states that the item can be delivered by June 18.
