Will Richardson, Jawaan Taylor set to start with Jags’ first-team OL vs. Dolphins

The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to take the field against their in-state rivals in the Miami Dolphins, and it appears they will have two new members taking the field with their first-team offensive line. Those two players are second-year right guard Will Richardson and rookie right tackle Jawaan Taylor.

The two spots filled by the duo were the biggest questions of the night as the Jags haven’t been able to put their first-team offensive line on the field due to injuries. However, with Andrew Norwell and Taylor returning to practice this week, the Jags were put in position to put their best five on the field.

We predicted that both Taylor and Richardson would be named starters earlier in the week after coach Doug Marrone praise Richardson all preseason in his battle with veteran A.J. Cann and Taylor outperformed Cedric Ogbuehi, Josh Wells and Leonard Wester in training camp. And though the line isn’t set in stone in terms of an official depth chart, all five starters being paired together is a good indication of what fans will see in the regular season.

With both Richardson and Taylor taking their first snaps as starters, fans should watch both carefully because they’ll be a big part of protecting Nick Foles and paving lanes for Leonard Fournette heading forward. With the Dolphins defense being ranked at the bottom half of the league in most major defensive categories, both just may be able to have solid debuts as the Jags search for their first preseason win of 2019.
