Will Redskins eventually consider signing Desmond Harrison again?

The Arizona Cardinals cut offensive tackle Desmond Harrison on Wednesday, which loops the Washington Redskins back into consideration on the free-agent tackle market.

Harrison has a warrant out for his arrest, but it wasn’t too long ago the Redskins were one of just two teams to put in a claim on Harrison after Cleveland let him go.

JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington followed this same track: “Redskins had waiver claim in on Harrison after he was cut by Cleveland last month. Interesting to watch if they get back involved with uncertainty around Trent Williams.”

Harrison’s situation still has to unfold but it isn’t hard to imagine the Redskins taking another look at a guy they were clearly willing to take a risk on as it is. The murky Trent Williams drama only makes it seem more logical.

And these Redskins haven’t been shy about taking risks as recently as this offseason. They grabbed Reuben Foster well before things had played out, as one example.

Given the Williams situation, the Redskins will naturally be linked to most offensive tackles. With Harrison, there’s just a little more gas behind it because they’ve clearly had an eye on him.
