Will Rangers and Celtic dispatch Braga and Copenhagen to qualify for Europa League last 16? Monday Jury

1. Will Rangers get through to the Europa League last 16?

Keith Jackson: It will take another monumental effort to get the job done as this is a talented, powerful Portuguese opponent. But last week’s storming second half comeback gives the Ibrox men a chance of progressing to the last 16. Fingers crossed they can get out of town with the draw they need.

Craig Swan: The evidence of the first hour at Ibrox says no. The last 30 minutes at Ibrox paint a different picture. Rangers to get a score draw as they did against Porto in the Dragao to progress.

Gavin Berry: They have scored in five of their six away Europa League group games in the last two seasons so, while Alfredo Morelos is out, you have to fancy them to find the net and if they can score first it would put huge pressure on Braga and Gers can catch them on the break.

Michael Gannon: It’s going to be tough but you wouldn’t put it past them, given some of the incredible results they’ve pulled on in Europe this season. Braga look a right good outfit but if Rangers can make it a basketball match again then anything can happen.

2. Are Celtic going to see off Copenhagen?

Keith: Yes. Celtic ended up making harder work of the first leg than they had to. Neil Lennon’s side should be way too strong for the Danes on their own pitch. They should wrap up this tie with a bit to spare.

Craig: Neil Lennon’s men could have been 3-0 up inside 15 minutes in the Parken Stadium. They can blow the Danes away on their own patch and make it through to the next stage.

Gavin: It should be done and dusted already. Had the Danes netted that penalty then it might have been a slightly different story but it’s hard to see Celtic losing this one.

Michael: Celtic should already be sitting with their feet up after the first half in Denmark. They need to keep their cool but Neil Lennon’s men will be too strong for the Danes and can go through with room to spare.

3. Will Motherwell beat Aberdeen to third spot?

Keith: It’s entirely possible and if they win their game in hand against St Mirren then they’ll open up a four point gap. But Aberdeen saved their season in the cup at Kilmarnock last week and will expect to build some momentum over the closing weeks of the campaign. Expect Derek McInnes to make them the best of the rest again.

Craig: No. Aberdeen will surely find a bit of consistency in the weeks ahead and it might just be enough to get them back above the Steelmen. Fourth place would still be an excellent finish for Motherwell.

Gavin: It seems to be one step forward and two back for the Dons right now but they will still have too much for the Steelmen over the final third of the season .

Michael: Motherwell won’t go away but Aberdeen have to snap back to life at some point. The defeat to Ross County was a sore one of the back of their Scottish Cup victory but they quickly need to work up a consistent run of results.

4. Are Hearts going to be relegated?

Keith: There’s every chance. Daniel Stendel represented an absurdly high risk appointment at a time when what the club really needed was a safe pair of hands. They’re anchored to the foot of the table for a very good reason.

Craig: It is impossible to rule out, but the inkling remains that they will just about be able to scramble out of trouble, even if it is through a relegation play-off.

Gavin: Following the postponement of Friday’s fixture against St Mirren, the derby takes on even more significance in their next league game. It’s hard to believe the contrast since Jambos won the last meeting at Easter Road at the start of the season to edge ahead of their rivals but they have enough to get a play-off spot at least.

Michael: It’s one getting free from three and Hearts don’t look capable. They’ve got quality but the shape is a shambles and their heads have scrambled. A play-off place might be their best hope but there’s a whiff of doom around this squad.
