Budget retailer Primark is allowed remain open across the Liverpool City region and other Tier 3 areas, according to Government guidelines.
From 00:01 tomorrow, the Liverpool City Region will move from Tier 2 into Tier 3 which means all pubs, bars and restaurants must close unless they are operating as a takeaway.
However one of the main differences between Tiers 3 and 4 is that non-essential retail can remain in Tier 3.
Salons and gyms are also allowed to continue operating.
This means high street stores across Liverpool will still be open including Primark, Marks & Spencer, Home Bargains and more.
The new Tiers were announced by Matt Hancock today whilst speaking in the House of Commons.
With the Covid-19 situation spiralling out of control in parts of the country and hospitals coming under huge pressure, Mr Hancock said further restrictions were required to try and contain the virus.
He announced that millions more people would be placed under the highest level of Tier 4 restrictions - which is similar to a national lockdown.
This includes areas like Greater Manchester, large parts of Lancashire, Cheshire and Warrington and Cumbria.
