Will Poulter teases Black Mirror: Bandersnatch return with exciting fan theory

British actor Will Poulter has discussed the potential for a return to the Black Mirror universe.

The BAFTA-winning star of The Revenant, 27, previously appeared as gaming geek Colin in the interactive film instalment of the anthology series, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.

However, Will has now suggested that fans of the series from writers Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones may have not seen the last of Colin.

Speaking to NME, Will spoke about a potential comeback to the anthology series - and he has a rather complex theory as to how he could return.

Will said: "I would love to reprise my character.:

He added: "[Charlie Brooker, Annabel Jones and I] were discussing how much people engage with Easter eggs, and how the different episodes might be linked in some way.

"We did suggest that Colin might have the ability to time travel…"

Time travel hasn't really been done in a purely unadulterated form in Black Mirror before, so it would certainly take the show into deeper science-fiction territory.

Will also added that he hoped his character Colin "showed up in full-on, ’80s regalia" in different time zones, including the present day.

The actor also provided an insight into how different viewers told him they treated his character when watching Bandersnatch.

He said: "Some people killed me, some people kept me alive, some people killed me then brought me back to life, and some of those people are my family members."

Meanwhile, Charlie Brooker himself recently gave an update on when fans can expect the sixth run of the dystopian series on Netflix.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Brooker said: "I've been busy, doing things. I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing.

"At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those.

"I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I've been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh."

Perhaps for dark societal stories, we can look out of the window until Black Mirror returns!

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is available now on Netflix.
