Will Notts County's takeover prove to be a great new beginning for the Magpies?

The last few months at Notts County have been nothing short of disastrous.

In fact, going back to the start of last season, things had been going downhill at Meadow Lane and obviously relegation was the ultimate sickener.

Following the takeover by Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz, it’s absolutely brilliant that finally things appear to have come to fruition.

There’s been a lot of speculation that the deal wouldn’t happen and that things would go from bad to worse, thankfully a new chapter has begun and the whole club can look forward.

I think it was great that Nottingham Forest helped the Magpies out on Friday before the game with Real Sociedad, which I thought was a real classy gesture from the Reds - and thankfully, the staff have since been paid by the new owners.

You’ve got to hope now, with the new people taking over, this is a real turning point for the club, and it turns out to be a great new beginning, not another false dawn.

Hopefully, the Danes are genuinely serious about Notts County and getting them back into the Football League.

Make no mistake about it, though, this is probably going to be the hardest season in the club’s history because of the nature of the National League.

You’ve only got to ask anyone who has been in that league just how tough it is to get out of it, clubs can easily linger in there and it’s imperative Notts deal with it professionally and ruthlessly.

That’s why it's paramount they get things right off the pitch and hopefully in turn, things on the pitch will start to go their way with Neal Ardley.
