People living in England will now be able to attend nightclubs and mass events for the first time in over a year after Step 4 of the roadmap goes ahead, Boris Johnson has confirmed.
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced today in his Downing Street press conference that many Covid-19 restrictions are set to be eased on July 19.
Mass events such as Leeds Festival and Parklife have been given the green light to go on ahead for the first time after having to cancel last year because of a spike in Covid-19 cases.

All remaining businesses will also be allowed to fully open on July 19, including places of worship, exhibition halls and close contact services.
Capacity caps will also be lifted, especially for sport stadiums and bars who have had to host limited clientele because of social distancing measures.
Restrictions for nightclubs and mass events came into place over 15 months ago and many businesses in the entertainment sector have suffered as a result.
The original date for the lifting of restriction was June 21 until the decision was made to push it back to July 19 as the government monitored the emergence of the Delta variant which originally spread from India.
Lifting of restrictions will only affect Covid rules and regulations in England and will not apply to Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, and is set to be fully confirmed next Monday, July 12, providing all four steps are met.
