Will Mellor updates fans on coronavirus vaccine after sharing 'horrendous' side effects

Will Mellor has updated fans after admitting he felt like 'absolutely horrendous' and bedridden following his coronavirus injection.

The Coronation Street and Line Of Duty star compared his sickness to 'full blown flu' as he spoke of his side effects from having the jab in a video posted to Instagram on Monday night.

Returning to social media today, Will admitted it had been a 'rough few days' for him before giving some advice to his followers who would be next in the vaccine rollout.

The 45-year-old actor appeared in better spirits as he updated fans on his situation.

"Hello, it's been a rough few days," Will began.

"As you probably know I had the jab on Saturday. I was proper rough on Sunday, seriously. It was like I had the full blown flu. It was horrible, really bad.

"Yesterday, I did feel better and last night I felt better again and today I feel fine... So if you are thinking about having the jab and you do get a reaction like mine it does look like it only lasts 24 or 36 hours maximum and then you're back to normal," said Will.

"But just in case you do get a reaction like mine don't plan anything for the day after you've had the jab because it's proper bad. Seriously," he advised.

"Just thought I'd keep you posted and updated..

"I'm just sat in my dressing room waiting to go on at Corrie. I'm still playing the lovely Harvey," Will went on to assure fans.

"Thanks for all your comments. Hopefully I'll see you all soon," he signed off with a thumbs up to camera.

It comes after the actor sparked concern from his followers after admitting he'd retreated to his bed after falling ill hours after his vaccine.

The Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star posted a video to his Instagram yesterday during which he complained about aches and pains.

"I had the Covid jab yesterday, and I feel absolutely horrendous,” he said, adding that he could 'barely' lift his head from his pillow.

"My arms are like lead, I’ve got aching bones, my back’s aching. It’s literally like I’ve got the full blown flu. When I try and walk, it’s like I’m an 80-year-old man. I’m not joking. It’s horrendous.

"Obviously not everybody’s gonna get it like this, but just to let you know, it’s a possibility,. So if you get the jab, don’t plan anything the day after just in case."

Will's former Two Pints co-star Ralph Little replied: "I was the same mateWiped out for 24 hours. Then it was gone, like nothing had happened.”

Celebrity Juice's Keith Lemon added: “Yep I felt like s*** afterwards.”
