Will Mellor is reuniting with Ralf Little for a Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps spin off.
The actor, from Bredbury, announced news on his Instagram page to his 121,000 followers that ‘2 Pints with Will and Ralf’ has started filming.
The original BBC comedy series was filmed in Runcorn and ran from 2001 until 2011.
It followed the dysfunctional lives of five young friends Gaz (Will), Jonny (Ralf), Janet (Sheridan Smith), Donna (Natalie Casey) and Louise (Kathryn Drysdale).
Will said of the new show: "I'm just on my way to start shooting a new project with Ralf Little.
"It's set in a pub, me and Ralf having a couple of pints, like Gaz and Jonny, talking about all sorts from the old days to any kind of pub banter.
"Putting the world to rights in our own way, playing a few silly games. You're going to be seeing it soon.
"Hopefully we're going to be having guests on, music, all sorts of stuff but today's the first day."
Fans of the show were delighted by the news and responded to his post with excitement.
One said: “I'm so excited and such a fan. I have every single dvd of 2 pints. I'm currently watching 2 pints as my down chilling time in bed.”
A second posted: “This is the best news of the year fella!”
A third said: “Loving the sound of this .... CAN NOT WAIT!!”
Another added: “Someone pinch me, see if I’m dreaming!”
