Will Mellor corrected Christine Lampard during his interview on Lorraine today over how his dad tragically died earlier this year.
The Two Pints of Lager star, 44, appeared on the ITV programme to speak out his reunion with his former co-star Ralf Little.
Ralf and Will have been recording a podcast together years after appearing on the show together.
Christine pointed out that it must have acted as a positive distraction following his dad Bill's death.
"You lost your dad in April to coronavirus, how have you been handling it? There have been thousands of families in exactly the same position as yourselves, not being able to be with your loved ones in their darkest moments. It's just been such a terrible, terrible time..."
But Will responded: "Yeah, I just want to clear up that it wasn't coronavirus. He actually had cancer, just so people know.
"But yeah it was tough, really tough, as it would be for anyone. I was really close to my dad, we went everywhere together.
"In the circumstances it was really hard - I couldn't even hug him. The last time I went to see him I really wanted to get hold of him and I couldn't.
"I never had the chance to do it so it was really tough."
He added that it had been hard for the whole family and that they would get through it.
"Talking helps but anyone out there who's struggling with mental health, make sure you talk, talking does help sort out your head," he said. "Obviously I've got my wife and my kids, who have been a big support to me."
