Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps will return to our television screens.

Actor Will Mellor broke the news the long-running comedy show was going to make a comeback nine years after the final episode aired in 2011.

The BBC show tells the story of five pals living together, falling in love and forming friendships while battling their difficulties of life in a humorous fashion.

In a recent Instagram post, Will teased his reunion with his former co-star Ralf Little while the pair prepared to shoot the new project.

The comedy actor filmed his spiel while he was behind the wheel of a stationary car.

He said: "I'm just on my way to start shooting a new project with Ralf Little.

"It's set in a pub, me and Ralf having a couple of pints, like Gaz and Jonny, talking about all sorts from the old days to any kind of pub banter.

"Putting the world to rights in our own way, playing a few silly games. You're going to be seeing it soon.

"Hopefully we're going to be having guests on, music, all sorts of stuff but today's the first day."

Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps was popular for a decade with fans as it run from 2001 until 2011.

The telly sitcom follows the five friends living in the setting of northwest town Runcorn.

Fans were buzzing for the reunion and they swamped the social media post with their gushing messages about the show making a comeback.

Among the crowd, one wrote: "Brilliant can't wait."

Another added: "Wahooo be great to see."
