Marshawn Lynch reportedly will be ejected if he wears gold-painted shoes

Jan. 18--Seattle star running back Marshawn Lynch might have a gold standard when the Seahawks play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in the NFC championship game. He may also be ejected from the game.

Lynch will be wearing gold-painted cleats, according to designer Marcus Rivero's Instagram account.

I cannot wait to see @beastmode Marshawn Lynch rocking these this weekend. I think one of his notorious crazy runs would just look that much "Gold-er" What do my 12th man fans think? #SolesBySir #customCleats #1of1 #gold #ALLGOLD #Seattle #Seahawks #12man #12thman FEEL FREE TO TAG ALL YOUR SEAHAWKS FANS #thankful #blessed #stillCantBelieveIMakeCleatikeThese

"I cannot wait to see @beastmode Marshawn Lynch rocking these this weekend," Rivero said in the post. "I think one of his notorious crazy runs would just look that much 'Gold-er'."

The footwear has real gold flakes and is valued at more than $1,000, according to TMZ.

Still, the shoes might end up costing Lynch even more. In the past, players have been fined for wearing unique cleats.

#Packers LB Clay Matthews was fined $10,000 for a uniform violation (wearing white cleats). Oof.

Before the start of the game Sunday, commentators said Lynch would be ejected if he wore the cleats. During warmups, Lynch was wearing standard issue cleats.

Speechless. 1. Made pregame on #NFLonFOX 2. My cleats are a game time decision 3. @nfl threaten at first to eject @beastmode if he wears them then said he won't be able to play...... Wow actually can't believe this but like my man says , "IM THANKFUL" #SolesBySir #gold #customCleats

Lynch just forked over $100,000 to the league for violating the NFL's media policy by not talking to reporters.

The league could not be reached for comment on the potential violation.
