Manchester United's win against Burnley kept the Reds in the hunt for qualification in next year's Champions League as the race for the top four heats up.
Despite their narrow defeat to league leaders Manchester City, Arsenal maintained their position in fourth to kick off 2022.
West Ham and Tottenham both survived scares, with the Hammers thwarting a fight-back from Crystal Palace after Antonio Conte's side needed a stoppage-time header from Davinson Sanchez to beat Watford.
As it stands, going into Monday's clash with Wolves, Ralf Rangnick's side are four points off the pace and three points off David Moyes' side in fifth.
Here are the key fixtures in the top-four race...
Manchester United
Towards the end of last year, the Reds endured a two-week layoff as a result of a coronavirus outbreak within the camp and this will see the clashes with Brentford and Brighton rescheduled at later date.
With the two games in hand, Rangnick's side either have an advantage or a disadvantage in the run-in but for the moment those two matches can see them into the top four.
United have qualified for the Champions League in three of their last five seasons, but with the summer signings that were made, ensuring they're back amongst the big guns will be a priority.
After their win over Burnley in midweek, they stretched their unbeaten run to six in the Premier League.
But the outlook looks tricky, in their run sees a number of standout fixtures including in March which sees United play a number of their rivals and close contenders for the top four, between the visit of Spurs and a trip to Anfield, they will play the second leg of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

Antonio Conte has begun to stamp his mark on Spurs. They pressed title-challengers Liverpool to a 2-2 draw and showed the resilience to grab the win at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
At the time of writing, they sit above the Reds by two points and the conclusion of their January could make or break their hopes of a top-four finish.

After a sticky patch that brought two straight defeats for David Moyes & Co., they returned to winning ways with wins over Watford and Crystal Palace.
But with trips to Old Trafford, Anfield and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it will be a test of West Ham's resolve.

Mikel Arteta's side have turned a corner and, despite slip-ups against Liverpool and at Old Trafford, they continue to knock on the door looking to reclaim their place in the Champions League.
The Gunners currently occupy the final spot in the top four with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City all in a battle of their own to win the Premier League.
