Will Levis talks being named Titans’ starting QB

The Tennessee Titans officially saw a changing of the guard on Tuesday when head coach Mike Vrabel announced that the team would start rookie quarterback Will Levis over Ryan Tannehill moving forward.

On Wednesday, Levis addressed the media for the first time since that change and said while it’s great for it to be official, it doesn’t change how he approaches things.

“The news didn’t change anything,” Levis said, per Jim Wyatt. “It was cool to hear that, and to see it become official. But it doesn’t change much as far as how I am approaching things.”

Levis then went into more detail on that front.

“I am always going to be a guy who is going to lead by example and just show the standard through my actions,” Levis added. “But when you do transition into that starting role there becomes some more freedom with how to interact with the guys, coaching the guys, and just being more direct with it.

“I think the biggest thing for me is I didn’t change who I was in practice from when I was the third-string up until now, and I think that helped me.”

Tannehill also touched on the Titans’ decision to roll with Levis, and as you’d expect he handled it with absolute class. You can check out his reaction right here.
