The morning of Christmas Eve started off on a frosty note today with a risk of ice.
A snow weather warning issued yesterday in the Highlands and northeast will come to an end at 11am.
Wet and wintry weather will fade this afternoon as sunshine with easterly winds adding to the chill, said BBC Scotland Weather presenter Gillian Smart.
Temperatures today will reach 6C in Edinburgh and Glasgow and stay above freezing in Aberdeen and Inverness at 5C.
Weather on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Friday night this Christmas Eve will be largely dry with the odd wintry shower drifting over the northern isles and into southeast Scotland, predicts BBC Scotland Weather.
It will be quite cold heading into Christmas day getting as low in -7C overnight in parts of the north.
Scots will wake up to frost and the risk of ice on Christmas day.
Christmas will be dry with long periods of sunshine - great weather for a brisk walk if you fancied it.
As for snow, the greatest chance of some snow is over high ground in Scotland and northern England.
Temperatures in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen will hit a high of 4 or 5C with a chillier day in Inverness at 3C.
Boxing Day weather and beyond

After Christmas, the weather in Scotland is set to take a rainy turn.
The forecast for Boxing Day on Sunday sees a band of rain spreading northwards over Scotland.
Rain could fall as snow but this is expected to be limited to just higher ground.
The wet weather will continue through Monday for another rainy and breezy day.
BBC Weather Scotland says a band of heavy rain will sweep in from the west on Tuesday, turning the weather "unsettled, wet and windy" for most.
