Will.i.am to collaborate with Fergie – but not the one from Black Eyed Peas

Will.i.am is working on music with Fergie. No, not that one...

The Voice coach has revealed plans to turn the Duchess of York into a pop star – following in the footsteps of his Black Eyed Peas bandmate Fergie.

It’s a shock collaboration he hopes will take the music world by storm.

He says they have discussed heading into the studio, with Will providing the music for Prince Andrew’s ex’s poetry.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman says he can’t wait to get started.

“Fergie brought it up,” he says.

“She was like, ‘Imagine my poetry over your beats’. Royal Fergie does poetry.

“She’s my homegirl. We do tea all the time. She came to my ghetto with Prince Andrew to mentor kids at my old school. I love Fergie.

“And her daughter Beatrice. She’s the coolest. I love her eyes.”

Will.i.am slams 'inhumane' Michael Jackson backlash: 'He wouldn't hurt a fly'

Will, 44, was back in the red seat for the live semi-finals of The Voice last night, alongside fellow judges Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and Jennifer Hudson.

Olly, 34, reveals how Sir Tom, 78, is now his neighbour – and the Welsh singing legend gave him a warning.

“He says, ‘Don’t look across in the morning, you might see something you don’t want to’,” chuckles Olly.

“I don’t know if he gets out on his balcony with no clothes on and goes, ‘Hello London!’ We’ll see.

“I’m trying to get Tom out to Essex one night. He says as long as there’s a bottle of champagne he’ll come.”

Meanwhile, Sir Tom has hit out at an ex-bandmate who slated him in a tell-all book, saying it was “sour grapes”.

Tom was dubbed a heartless fake by Vernon Hopkins in his autobiography.

“Vernon is a bitter person,” says Tom. “This is sour grapes because he didn’t go on to other things after we worked together.

“I have heard what he’s written and I don’t know how the hell he came up with it all. What he’s done is a shame because we were very close once. I feel sad about it.”
