Will hot weather return for the June bank holiday? Met Eireann's current forecast

Last weekend's mini-heatwave is set to end tomorrow, with Met Eireann predicting a turn in the weather, bringing rain and lower temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees.

From Wednesday, outbreaks of rain and even spot flooding is expected despite temperatures remaining close to 20 degrees.

The weather is predicted to pick up slightly just in time for the June bank holiday weekend, bringing sunny spells with some scattered showers.

Here is what the weather will look like this weekend:

Friday

The weather is expected to be largely dry on Friday morning, with sunny spells across the southwest.

Outbreaks of rain are predicted to become widespread in the afternoon, but good news for eastern areas as they will remain dry.

Friday night will be largely dry with clear spells as outbreaks of rain clear eastwards.

Highest temperature will range between 14 to 17 degrees with fresh southerly winds.
