Will Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield return to This Morning after break?

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will taking a break for the summer, with their last day on Friday July 10.

Every year, the nation's favourite presenting duo head off for the summer and are often replaced by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

However, speculation has been rising as to whether they will be returning to the ITV programme amid a big 'shake-up' behind the scenes.

Editor Martin Frizell, who is credited with keeping 39-year-old Holly and 58-year-old Phil under control behind and in front of the camera, is reportedly set to quit the show.

There are a number of possible replacements for the nation's favourite daytime TV hosts, including Eamonn and Ruth and Rochelle and Marvin.

"Phil and Holly actually listen to Martin. Who knows what they'd do if he left," a source told the Mail On Sunday.

Earlier this month, Phil addressed speculation that he was ditching ITV for BBC.

It was reported that the rival broadcaster had been attempting to lure him away from ITV with a multi-million pound offer when his contract ends in 2021.

But Phil has insisted that he isn't going anywhere soon.

A fan had tweeted him asking: "please please don't say that you and Holly are leaving this morning?"

Phillip replied: "Course not," followed by a crying with laughter emoji.

Holly and Phil have been presenting This Morning together since 2009 after she joined the show to replace Fern Britton.

The pair usually return to the ITV daytime show in September when the six-week summer holiday ends.
