Hairdressers, beauty salons and other personal care service will need to close from Thursday as a second lockdown is introduced for England.
The announcement was made on Saturday when Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation in which he confirmed the new rules and restrictions will come into force at 00:01 on Thursday, November 5.
In his speech, he announced all non-essential stores must including clothing shops and car showrooms but beauty salons and hairdressing businesses were not referenced.
Although a beauty appointment was not included in the list of reasons people would be able to leave their homes, so it was assumed these would need to close.
Guidance on the Government website has now been updated which states these businesses must close too.
It says: "Personal care facilities such as hair, beauty and nail salons, tattoo parlours, spas, massage parlours, body and skin piercing services, non-medical acupuncture, and tanning salons."
Mobile hairdressers must also stop working during the four-week lockdown too.
Measures are set to be reviewed on December 2.
