Will Grigg and Danny Graham could leave Sunderland before the end of January window

Lee Johnson is looking to offload Sunderland duo Danny Graham and Will Grigg, according to reports.

The Sun claims the pair will be moved on from the Stadium of Light as Lee Johnson tries to free up space under the League One salary cap.

Neither striker have scored in the league this season and have played just 157 minutes of league action (via WhoScored ).

League Two side Salford City are reportedly keen on signing Grigg who has failed to justify his high transfer fee.

In contrast, Graham re-joined the club on a free transfer in the summer but Johnson wants to freshen up his approach.

Both players have struggled with injuries in recent weeks. Graham returned to the squad against Shrewsbury, but was an unused substitute.

Speaking after the Black Cats game against the Shrews, Johnson said: "We need to improve in every area, but if you are talking transfers, we are looking for players with those attributes for the final third.

"It's not necessarily a set player to plug a gap.

"We want every club in the bag, in terms of a golfing analogy, that's a good way to describe it."
