So now that “Game of Thrones” has ended, hardcore fans want to know: Will author George R.R. Martin right a perceived wrong by crafting a different conclusion for his ”A Song of Ice and Fire” book series?
”How will it all end? I hear people asking,” Martin wrote on his “Not a Blog” site after the final episode of the blockbuster HBO series ended. ”The same ending as the show? Different? Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes.”
Well, that certainly clears things up.

Many viewers thought Dany’s heel-turn happened too abruptly in a shortened final season that ended the fantasy series in just six episodes.
”I am working in a very different medium than [show producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss], never forget,” Martin wrote. “They had six hours for this final season. I expect these last two books of mine will fill 3,000 manuscript pages between them before I’m done.”
Martin wrote that he also will give readers an ending for characters who ”never made it onto the screen at all, and others who died in the show but still live in the books.”
If nothing else, he wrote, readers will learn the fates of characters like Jeyne Poole, Robb Stark’s wife in the books, who Martin did not have accompany him to the Red Wedding, and Lady Stoneheart. That was the name given in the books to the reanimated Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) after she was revived by Beric Dondarrion after dying in that massacre. Unfortunately for poor Catelyn, her resurrection turned out more like the Mountain’s than Jon Snow’s.
Fans’ other big question: Are the final two books ever coming out, and when?
”Winter is coming, I told you, long ago… and so it is,” said Martin, who recently had to shut down rumors he’d already finished them.
” ‘The Winds of Winter’ is very late, I know, I know, but it will be done,” he wrote of the sixth novel in the series, which he did not finish in time to provide source material for the show’s sixth season. “I won’t say when, I’ve tried that before, only to burn you all and jinx myself… but I will finish it, and then will come ‘A Dream of Spring.’
