Three handwritten wills have been found in the Detroit home of the late “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin, including one that was discovered under cushions in the living room.

The latest was dated March 2014 and appears to give the singer’s assets to family members, according to lawyer David Bennett.

Franklin died aged 76 last August of pancreatic cancer.

Lawyers and relatives said at the time that she had no will for her estate, estimated to be worth about $80 million (£63 million).

Two wills from 2010 were found in a locked cabinet after a key was discovered.

The 2014 version was in a spiral notebook under cushions, Mr Bennett said.

He filed the wills yesterday and told a judge he was not sure if they were legal.

A hearing is scheduled for June 12. The wills have been shared with the star’s four sons, or their lawyers.
