Meanwhile, earlier this week Will Ferrell paid a heart-felt tribute to his former Elf co-star James Caan who passed away on Wednesday aged 82. He paid tribute to his co-star in a statement to Hollywood Reporter, saying: “I will always treasure my time spent on and off camera with James Caan. He always had great stories and advice. The two actors had a amazing relationship on set and Will has often been open about how grateful he was to be able to star in a movie alongside the renowned actor.

Caan's decades-long career included a number of memorable roles, the most notable of which was his Oscar nominated role as Sonny Corleone in The Godfather. Other movie's he's known for include Misery, Thief, Brian's Song, Rollerball, Hide in Plain Sight, The Gambler, El Dorado and Funny Lady.
