Will Ferrell Eurovision film shot in Glasgow arrives on Netflix today

A new Will Ferrell comedy featuring scenes filmed in Glasgow arrives on Netflix today.

Eurovision may not have gone ahead this year, but fans will now be able to indulge in a fictional version.

'Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga' stars Anchorman and Step Brothers actor Ferrell alongside Rachel McAdams, Demi Lovato and former 007 Pierce Brosnan.

Graham Norton also plays himself as the acerbic Eurovision commentator.

Ferrell and McAdams were both spotted being filmed at Glasgow Airport last October, and the SSE Hydro also features in the film.

It's one of a number of major film and television productions to have filmed in Glasgow in recent years, from the big screen epics 1917 and World War Z to acclaimed TV shows Succession and Patrick Melrose.

Ferrell and Mean Girls star McAdams play Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, who form Fire Saga and go on to represent their country at Eurovision.

Ferrell also has a co-writing credit on the film, which was originally scheduled for release in May to coincide with the real Eurovision Song Contest before its postponement.
