Given the press coverage of his deceased father’s tax avoidance activities and his laboured response to it, perhaps David Cameron will now have some understanding of how Ed Miliband felt in the runup to the 2015 election, when Cameron’s cronies in the rightwing press loudly claimed his deceased father was “anti- British” (Cameron finally admits: yes, I benefited from tax-avoiding offshore fund, 8 March). But there is an important difference. The story about Cameron senior is clearly true, but that about Miliband senior was patently false.
