Will Bengals follow Ravens’ lead and severely limit attendance in 2020?

The Baltimore Ravens just set the tone in the AFC North by letting fans know they’ll limit capacity at home games to just 14,000 fans in 2020.

Now the spotlight turns to the Cincinnati Bengals and the rest of the league.

Severely limited attendance numbers aren’t a shocker given the ongoing negotiations between the NFLPA and NFL. The NFL has already axed two preseason games and the Bengals had a national broadcast canceled. We’ve also wondered aloud if Bengals players could straight-up choose to opt-out of the season.

The Bengals will already tarp off the first 6-8 rows of seats to align with NFL rules but might be free to do as they please when it comes to overall game attendance. That could include dramatically limiting attendance outright and enforcing masking and social distancing rules.

As always, all of this continues to change by the minute and the shape of the season itself could still change dramatically between now and December.
