'Will be furious' – Player ratings from Bristol Rovers' 4-1 defeat at Doncaster Rovers

Anssi Jaakkola - 6

Will be furious with his defenders who had a dreadful afternoon dealing with set-pieces. Powerless to prevent any of the goals.

Alfie Kilgour - 4

Despite filling in there in the past, he's not a right-back and had a tough afternoon at the mercy of Doncaster's lively young forwards.

Max Ehmer - 4

Gave away too many free-kicks which invited pressure and missed a huge chance to equalise shortly after the break.

Cian Harries - 5

Did pretty well in the first half but this was not a good performance from the defensive unit.

Luke Leahy - 7

Scored a superb goal, lobbing Josef Bursik from 16 yards, to get the Gas back in the game.

Josh Grant - 5

Plenty of nice touches and a few good clearances from the rare set-pieces Rovers defended well, but was soft in midfield at times.

Zain Westbrooke - 6

Put in some great balls and deserved an assist or two. Influence was growing until the quickfire goals in the second half killed the game.

Luke McCormick - 5

Ran his socks off but was ineffective.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson - 4

Not his day. Lacked influence in the final third and his weak tackle led to the game-breaking third goal.

James Daly - 6

A great shift and a promising performance given the extent of the illness which has ruled him out of starting contention until now, which left him struggling to eat. Deserves another crack in the starting XI.

Brandon Hanlan - 6

Always a willing runner and won several free-kicks to help the Gas get up the pitch. Had one clear chance from a Westbrooke free-kick which he volleyed narrowly over.

Subs

Jonah Ayunga (for Mitchell-Lawson on 65 minutes) - 6

Put himself about.

Zain Walker (for Daly on 74 minutes) - 6

Gave it a good go in tough circumstances to make a league debut.

David Tutonda (for Leahy on 79 minutes) - 6

Defended OK.

Not used: Jordi van Stappershoef, Ed Upson, Cameron Hargreaves, Jack Baldwin.
