Will Aimson admits that Bolton Wanderers let Fleetwood Town off the hook as he broke the dressing room silence on the midweek defeat and is targeting a response versus Accrington Stanley this weekend.
Wanderers are seeking going back to winning ways this Saturday after a 3-0 loss on the road to the Cod Army in midweek.
Bolton went behind early on at Highbury Stadium to the Cod Army thanks to Ged Garner's early strike.

Eoin Doyle saw a first half effort disallowed for offside, before Wanderers went down to 10 men when Santos was shown a straight red card when he brought down Callum Morton on the edge of the box and appeared to be the last man.
And Harrison Biggins fired in a quickfire brace shortly afterwards to inflict a defeat on Ian Evatt's side and ensure Crainey won his first game as Cod Army interim boss with a 3-0 loss for Wanderers.
Aimson has now broken the Wanderers dressing room silence on the poor result, but believes that Bolton let the Lancashire side off the hook at Highbury Stadium, and wants a bounce back from him and his team mates versus Stanley.
He said: "It’s disappointing. We can’t blame the injuries or the conditions, it was the same for both teams. I think we let them off the hook a little bit in terms of we maybe didn’t put enough pressure on them as they did to us in the first half.
"Anything can happen. I’ve personally never played in conditions like that. It was difficult, but it was the same for both teams so we were gutted and disappointed.
"I thought we were building after the last few performances a bit of momentum, but then all of a sudden that happens. Of course it’s difficult but it’s the game, it’s football and it does happen, so we’ve had to look at it and see what was wrong and where we can improve and take some responsibility like we all have to and put it right at the weekend.
“That’s another issue that we can’t keep being in that situation where we do need to bounce back because like I mentioned earlier, it can’t be a couple of good games and a couple of good performances and then a bad one.
We can’t keep putting ourselves in that situation. We know we have to bounce back, we haven’t got a choice. We have to and we’re going to be doing everything we can to bounce back on Saturday.
"I’ve played there a few times in my career and they’re always well drilled, always honest and hardworking and if you think Tuesday night was tough, then you’ve got another thing coming on Saturday. It’s going to be a battle, one we’re going to have to stand up to more than we did on Tuesday.
"That’s the bare minimum and hopefully the talent that we’ve got in the team can shine through and get us over the line.
“We need to stand up to the fight, that is the first port of call.
“I have no doubt if we do that, even thought we have a lot of injuries, there is still enough talent to win us the game.
“We know it will be a battle. I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure we win it."
Wanderers sit 16th in the table heading into the encounter, with Stanley three places above them in the table and one point separating the two sides.
Bolton's results have been up and down of late, with a win, draw and a loss in their last three games in the division.
Aimson has assessed the campaign so far for Wanderers and the defender wants the University of Bolton Stadium club to not be coined a soft touch, especially as a strong centre half.
And he is aiming to put right what Wanderers did wrong against Fleetwood this weekend against Accrington.
He said: “We obviously had a good start and we were up near the top of the table looking at the play-offs and in quite a healthy position. Since then, the bad month that we did have, I think we just need to get that consistency back.
"We can’t keep having a couple of good performances and then one bad one. We need to get some consistency and some consistency of results and putting more points on the board.
“It’s an old fashioned saying but sometimes you have to be an ugly central defender. For people to say you are soft is not a nice thing to hear.
“Performances and results haven’t been what we wanted so we have to take that criticism on the chin and try to prove them wrong.
“We know we let the fans down. We appreciate them going to that game in the conditions, coming after work, leaving early, and we don’t want that to happen again.
“It personally hurts me. People say they can’t hear it but you can, especially in a smaller ground like Fleetwood. You can hear a lot.
“I hate letting people down and I will be doing everything to stop that happening again.”
