Wilko shopper branded 'selfish' after filling trolley with 533 packets of 5p bargain

When it comes to finding an amazing bargain, everyone knows that it's usually worth grabbing it right away so you don't miss out.

And it looks like one Wilko shopper took that piece of advice to heart after she completely cleared a shelf of a discounted product she had seen in store.

The shopper spotted a packet of seeds in her local Wilko that had been massively reduced in price, with each packet being slashed to 5p down from £1, The Mirror reports.

Filling her entire trolley with a whopping 533 packets in total, which came to just £26.65, she then decided to excitedly share a snap of her haul with other bargain hunters on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page.

The shopper's snap featured her massive shopping bag filled to the brim with packets of gardening seeds, with many featuring the original yellow price stickers showing that they were either £1 or 75p.

She captioned the snap: "533 packets of seeds for £26.65! 5 pence a packet reduced at Wilko."

And while the shopper was excited to share her bargain with others, it looks like the post was not received with welcoming comments, as many branded her "selfish" for buying the whole lot.

One person said: "A haul like that is selfish. She's obviously not going to be able to grow them all.

"They are clearly to resell and make a profit.

"Now don't get me wrong, I applaud enterprise, but come on - to purchase every last packet and not give anyone else a shot at them. Totally selfish. Rant over."

Others joked that they were glad they were not behind her in the queue, as it may have taken quite a while for one cashier to have scanned through all of the 533 packets she had.

The shopper has since responded to insist that she did not purchase the haul for selfish reasons and that she would, in fact, be using them as wedding favours when she gets married - as she wants to keep costs low.

She explained: "They're for my wedding favours so will be shared between many many people who love gardening and growing things. Not sure how that's selfish, but I hope you feel better for saying it.

"As a permanently broke student trying to arrange a wedding as cheaply as I can, they make cute and very cheap wedding favours."
