Wilko makes key Christmas announcement on store openings

Household retailer Wilko has announced it will close all of its stores across the UK on Boxing Day this year.

Workers at the company will be able to spend the day with their families and Wilko joins other companies in the move such as Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Home Bargains and Pets at Home.

Wilko, a Nottinghamshire-based company, employs around 3,800 people and has 400 stores across the UK.

A spokesperson for the retailer said: "As a family owned retailer, Wilko understands the importance of spending quality time with loved ones and after such a difficult year, Wilko has decided to give all its team members a day off on 26th December to spend with their families this Christmas."
