Wilfried Zaha transfer news: Arsenal up offer as Crystal Palace remain resolute over £80m valuation

Arsenal are still some way off Crystal Palace's valuation for Wilfried Zaha, with the Selhurst Park hierarchy having rebuffed the latest approaches.

Proving themselves as steadfast on this deal as Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Palace have set an asking price of £80m for the player.

Arsenal have most recently suggested a £55m deal with £10m dependent on clauses, as well as highly-rated Reiss Nelson on loan as a temporary replacement for Zaha, but the Selhurst Park club have insisted this is nowhere near enough.

Although one of Arsenal’s talented young attackers temporarily coming does appeal to Palace – another alternative is Bukayo Saka – they don’t see the deal as anywhere near good enough for a player of such standing.

Sources close to the situation feel Arsenal need to up the guaranteed cash, and also send a player the other on a permanent deal, to go with one of the loans. Carl Jenkinson has been mooted as a possibility.

There is still a feeling the deal will eventually happen due to Zaha telling the club that he feels it is time to leave.

One source involved however said an agreement was still “miles off”.
