Wilfried Zaha transfer clause that impacted Man Utd's Aaron Wan-Bissaka deal

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.

United have had two bids rejected for the England Under-21s right-back with Palace looking for most of the fee up front.

A fee has now been agreed worth £50m - but Palace's other star man, Wilfried Zaha, was a crucial component in the deal.

The two clubs are believed to have discussed the sell-on clause attached to former United man Zaha as part of the deal.

Eventually, it was agreed the 25% sell-on clause would remain in place as United look set to cash-in if the winger leaves Palace this summer.

Zaha returned to Selhurst Park in January 2015 after an unsuccessful spell at Old Trafford.

United inserted a sell-on clause in the transfer and could be set for a £15m windfall if Zaha moves on.

The Ivory Coast winger has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham in recent times with Palace wanting around £80m.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has reportedly urged the Gunners board to loosen their self-imposed transfer restrictions to fund a move for Zaha, who is his top target.

It is believed Palace pushed for the clause to be removed or reduced but United eventually opted to part with more cash for Wan-Bissaka and keep the clause in place.

Wan-Bissaka is keen to make the switch to Old Trafford and grew up as a United fan.

He is now set to travel to Carrington once he returns from Italy after the European Under 21 Championship to undergo a medical and put pen to paper.

The 21-year-old is set to be offered a big-money contract worth £80k-£90k, a massive increase in the £10k he has been on at Palace.
