Wilfried Zaha to Chelsea: How Blues can beat Arsenal and Everton to star after transfer ban

There are not many players in world football who could replace Eden Hazard at Chelsea after securing his 'dream' move to Real Madrid.

The Blues have had no chance to even try to replace him this summer with FIFA slapping a two-window transfer ban on the club for breaking regulations over the signing of youth players.

Chelsea are currently in the process of appealing the ban and are awaiting a hearing date from the Court of Arbitration for Sport over the ruling in an attempt to get it reduced to one window.

While the Blues will be saving some money over the summer, they are hoping to be able to spend in January.

Chelsea's winger situation is certainly one to keep an eye on, with Hazard having left the club and the Blues trying to make the best out of that situation.

Both Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi are set to sign new deals with the Blues, while Christian Pulisic has just started his Blues career which will keep him at the club until 2024.

Pedro has a contract that runs out in the summer, but according to the Telegraph the Blues are looking at signing Wilfried Zaha when the transfer ban comes to an end.

The 26-year-old is in popular demand this summer, with Arsenal not getting close to Crystal Palace's valuation for their main star.

Everton are coming the closest to taking the Ivory Coast international, however Palace have again knocked back a £52million bid from the Toffees.

So could Chelsea really nip in and sign the winger once the transfer ban is over?

Zaha is keen on a move away from Selhurst Park this summer, wanting to play European football and fight for trophies with a new club.

Apart from the transfer ban, the other issue for Chelsea could be that Zaha is an Arsenal fan and more keen on a move to the Emirates. However, the Gunners seem to have moved on from Zaha and are close to bringing in Nicolas Pepe.

Everton have always been in and around the Europa League places, however are yet to really make that next step up to play regular European football.

"He’s [Zaha] dealing with the chairman at the moment," Eagles boss Roy Hodgson said after Palace's 5-0 pre-season win over Bristol City.

"Most of what’s going on with Wilfried is going on between him and the chairman and I can’t enlighten you at all.

"I know what you know. I know it through reading on your websites or in newspapers."

Palace are aiming to keep their star, however the reality of a big fee coming in for Zaha means that there is a chance to get the winger.

It would have to be big fee for the winger, but with the lack of money that will be spent this summer, despite the Mateo Kovacic deal, and any more funds raised from Champions League money and player sales, the money will be there.

Chelsea have eyed the forward in the past, and if Zaha is willing to wait for next summer, or potentially January, then it could be a good move for both parties.
