Wilfried Zaha: Star's brother makes Crystal Palace plea over 'dream' Arsenal transfer

The brother of Wilfried Zaha has called on Crystal Palace to allow his sibling to realise his dream of playing for Arsenal.

The Gunners have been strongly linked with Zaha over recent weeks despite suggestions of a modest summer transfer budget and fresh reports on Monday claimed that they had now submitted an offer worth £40million.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 26-year-old's brother Judicael said Zaha wanted to represent his boyhood club in Europe - and expressed hope that Palace would not stand in the way of that.

"Wilfried will always hold Crystal Palace and their fans in the highest regard and all the support they have given means the world to him," he said.

"It's my brother's dream though, to play for Arsenal.

"Given all that Wilfried has given to Crystal Palace to help them remain a Premier League club, I hope Palace will be able to see their way to agreeing a deal with Arsenal that allows Wilfried to realise his dream of playing European Football for the club he's supported since childhood."

Zaha is currently away on international duty with the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.

He scored late on in Monday evening's 4-1 thrashing of Group D rivals Namibia as Ibrahim Kamara's side moved into the last 16 in Egypt.
