Wilfried Zaha's odds on joining Everton tumble after Nicolas Pepe news

Wilfried Zaha's odds on joining Everton have dramatically dropped in the past few hours.

According to the bookies, the Blues are now clear favourites to sign the winger this summer.

Broadcaster Jim White was one of several reporters and outlets to link the Blues with a big money transfer offer for Zaha over the past week - although the ECHO understands the Toffees are not set to make a move for the Ivory Coast international.

But that hasn't stopped Zaha's odds from dropping on Saturday morning, with bookmaker Sky Bet pricing the Palace man at 1/1 to join the Blues before the transfer window shuts in 12 days time.

However, there appears to a motive behind the fall in the odds and that is that Arsenal, who have already apparently seen two bids turned down for Zaha, have reportedly struck a deal with Lille for Nicolas Pepe.

The winger, who has also been linked with the Blues, is seemingly set join the North London club in a deal worth around €80million, meaning Zaha's hopes of joining the Gunners this summer could be over.
