Wilfried Zaha's deleted message to Rio Ferdinand amid Ravel Morrison disagreement

Wilfried Zaha has deleted a message to Rio Ferdinand from his Instagram in which he asked the former Man United star to help set the record straight over a small feud with Ravel Morrison.

Zaha and Morrison's reported disagreement came about on international duty with the England Under-21s back in 2013.

In a game against Lithuania - in which the Young Lions won 5-0 - the duo clashed in the middle of a match, with Zaha recently explaining that he was angry with what he perceived as selfishness from Morrison in his style of play.

However, Morrison spoke on Ferdinand's Vibe with Five YouTube show, stating that he was hoping to score a hat-trick after already notching two goals.

Morrison accused Zaha of "liking the attention" and stated that he was simply enjoying himself on the pitch.

"You know what Wilf likes the attention," Morrison said. "I go there to play football, I enjoy myself. I go on the pitch and I don’t try and drop ten step overs, it's just natural, do you know what I mean?

"I didn’t understand in his interview where he said ‘Everyone else can do that.’ If everyone else can do it, go and do it.

"Go and enjoy yourself, we are winning 4-0. What should we do? Pass the ball back or to the side?

"Enjoy yourself, if you can take five players on and score a goal go on do it. It all looks better for you in your career."

After the podcast was released, Zaha sent a message on Instagram asking Ferdinand for a right of reply - though his message was swiftly deleted.

"Rio, any chance I could get on your podcast again so I can explain my side to say that I've never claimed to be a bad boy and those who truly know me know that. Anyway it's all love."

Zaha has been busy on social media this week, sending video updates of his progression as he continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury picked up against Newcastle.

The attacker has so far missed games against Leeds and Burnley, with a match against rivals Brighton coming on Monday, but it currently looks unlikely that Zaha will be rushed back for the clash at the AmEx Stadium.
