Wilfried Zaha crowned Crystal Palace Fans' Footballer of the Year

Wilfried Zaha has been named as Crystal Palace Fans' Footballer of the Year following a mixed 2020 for Roy Hodgson's men.

Up against the Ivory Coast international for the main award, Palace teammates Cheikhou Kouyate, Vicente Guaita and James McArthur were also contenders for the prize.

However, it is Zaha who takes the gong ahead of Guaita, with McArthur ahead of Kouyate to take third place.

In terms of the national award, it was Liverpool's Mohamed Salah who came out victorious after a successful season on Merseyside for the Reds as they ended their barren run without a league title.

Reach plc, via our network of newspapers and websites, asked you to have your say on what has been an extraordinary year, in more ways than one.

Beset by the coronavirus pandemic, huge obstacles have been put in the way of the Premier League in 2020. But football responded.

We may not have been able to see our favourite players very much in the flesh, reduced to watching on from home, but when it comes to having our say on the beautiful game, everyone's got an opinion.

What initially looked to be a formality, Liverpool won their first title in 30 years, having to wait longer than any other team in history to do so thanks to Covid-19.

Marcus Rashford has led calls for change from the Government when it came to free schools meals for the under-privileged.

There have been plenty of standout moment and we asked our journalists and you the fans to have your say on who has been the Footballer of the Year for 2020.

And while there can be only one overall winner, we have club specific triumphs too, thanks to our network of more than 100 reporters and the votes of more fans than watched the 2019 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

The top five: 1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), 2. Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), 3. Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), 4. Kevin De Bruyne (Man City), 5. Jordan Henderson (Liverpool).
