Wilfried Zaha admits he's ready to leave Crystal Palace as top clubs prepare bids

Wilfried Zaha wants to leave Crystal Palace - and pursue his dream of playing in the Champions League.

The winger has been a standout performer for the struggling Eagles this season, notching eight goals and eight assists in 30 Premier League games.

Zaha has hero status at Selhurst Park, having come through the ranks at the club and he returned home in 2015 following a tough spell with Manchester United .

But he has never hidden his ambition to succeed at a top European club, and has now revealed that he is ready to have a second go at making it at the highest level.

He told the Daily Mail : “I'm too ambitious. And not ambitious just to play for a top club, but to win things at club level and with the Ivory Coast.

“For me to be better, to achieve what I know I am capable of, I have to aim to play at the very highest level, to win trophies.

“I’m blessed to have come this far in my playing career. But I feel like there is so much more I have to offer.

“I have to experience the Champions League. I just need the opportunity, that's it. And I'll do the rest.”

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund were keeping tabs on his situation last summer, while Tottenham are known to be long-term admirers.

Palace persuaded Zaha to sign a new £130,000-a-week deal ahead of this season, tying him down to a five year-deal that made him their top earner.

The South Londoners will be reluctant to lose their star man this summer, and are reportedly holding out for at least £50million for the 26-year-old.

But having failed to make the grade at United, Zaha has proved his undoubted ability at Palace over the last few seasons, and top European clubs will no doubt line up to seal his signature.
